Decorative Concrete Workshops Available March 1 and April 5
Today's decorative concrete technologies offer a wide range of colors, patterns and textures to create effects that rival the beauty of nature. As part of our recently formed partnership, Prairie's Ready Mix division is teaming up with Aurora's Butterfield Color to offer a series of hands-on workshops designed to bring you the latest information and techniques in decorative concrete application.

Introductory ½ day hands-on workshops will be offered on March 1 and April 5, 2007 at Prairie's new Bridgeview Workshop area.

After a brief classroom overview, Butterfield’s decorative specialists will give you the opportunity to practice various stamping, texturing and stenciling techniques on freshly mixed liquid colored concrete. Lunch will follow.

Techniques and processes to be covered include:

• Integral color
• Stamping
• Pouring risers with color and texture
• Cleaning and sealing colored concrete
• Applying color hardener
• Stenciling
• Acid staining
• Concrete repair products
• Overlays

Prairie has installed Butterfield’s liquid color dispenser system in two ready mix supply yards with the ability to supply all other yards with pre-mixed color from Prairie’s Yard 9 liquid color bucket system. In addition, Prairie carries all of the decorative tools and supplies necessary to create stunning effects on flatwork, floors, walkways, patios, decks, driveways, interior floors, even countertops and walls.
